Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme – There is another way you know

Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme – There is another way you know. Medacy Clinical Services

The number one frustration for Primary Care Networks (PCN) at the moment is not being able to use the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme funding available via The Network Contract DES to make a real and lasting impact within their member practices. It’s great having a pot of money to use to fundamentally change your Network and constituent practices but if you can’t recruit, or you recruit the wrong people it’s so frustrating. Medacy have the solution to your frustration

An alternative option to recruitment

Medacy offers a solution and it’s called Medacy Clinical Services. Medacy are experts in pharmacy, pharmacists, and pharmacy-led Clinical Services and we offer a fully managed, fully supported Pharmacist-led Clinical Services designed to support Primary Care Networks. This subcontracted service is delivered by experienced Clinical Pharmacists with Independent Prescriber Status and delivers real change for PCNs and practices straight away. you can use Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme funding allocated to Clinical Pharmacists to fund the service.

So what does this mean?

It means that your PCN can use the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme funding straight away and feel the benefits of Clinical Pharmacist support immediately. Medacy are supporting PCNs as far afield as North Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Merseyside, and Bristol and can support PCNs across the country. We also have the capability to provide Remote Services which has proved Invaluable during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Additional Roles Reimbursursement

So what are the stages for the service

  1. Initial onsite or Zoom/Teams meeting to discuss the service and understand the needs of the PCN and its member practice.
  2. Medacy produce a proposal that describes in details the service we feel will deliver real change for the PCN
  3. Once agreed in principle a contract is agreed between Medacy and the PCN but don’t worry. Medacy doesn’t tie you in for a long contract. We are happy to trade on the service we provide and if we don’t deliver, you only have to give one month’s notice.
  4. Medacy launches the service ideally within 4 weeks.
  5. As a Medacy employee, the pharmacist delivering the service is recruited, supported, developed and managed by Medacy’s senior management team.
  6. Once the Clinical Service is up and running then regular reviews are undertaken to ensure delivery against agreed service levels.

To recruit or not recruit, that is the question

Many Primary Care Networks have decided to recruit Clinical Pharmacists directly and employ them via a member practice or GP Federation; Medacy offer an alternative model that not only allows your PCN to use the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme funds but also takes on the risks associated with employment. All this is offered via an agreement that can be managed to ensure an excellent return on investment and real, tangible benefits for clinicians and patients
