The NHS is 75, so I thought I’d write a thank you note to this extraordinary organisation.

Thanks for helping me into the world all those years ago.

Thanks for looking after me when I fell over or didn’t feel well.

Thanks for patching me back up after playing sports to enable me to do the same thing again over and over again

Thanks for looking after my grandparents throughout their lives, and thank you for making them comfortable as they neared the end of their lives.

Thanks for keeping my parents fit and well.

Thanks for caring for my little family and providing amazing support and care to my wife and children

Thanks for looking after all the people I know and being there when they needed you.

Thanks for not judging, just caring.

Thanks for looking after the people I don’t know and not discriminating against them because of how they look, what they believe or where they come from

Thanks for the peace of mind of not worrying about whether I can afford the care I need.

Thanks to all the amazing staff who have worked for the NHS over the years.

Thanks for the care to come and the reassurance that you’ll always be there in the future.
